Barbara Talbot Figurative Painter

Painting by Barbara Talbot Barbara Talbot

Barbara Talbot has been painting her whole life. She feels there is a lithesome spirit and beauty in the female figure and enjoys finding new ways to interpret this spirit. Barbara studied painting and received her formal training at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana in the 60's. Originally from the USA, Barbara enjoys the art community in Durham Region, Ontario Canada.

Barbara is pitctured above while showing some of her latest paintings at the Ajax Creative Arts Spring show, May 22nd to 24th, 2009 in Pickering Village. Barbara paints mostly in acrylics. She belongs to the Oshawa Art Association, The Whitby Station Gallery, and Ajax Creative Arts Group. Barbara paints almost full time and is happy to have her paintings collected by her fans.

Barbara says, “Figurative painting is a hard sell in some smaller areas, but I have done well. My sons always say I should have a show in Toronto or some other big city as my work has that upscale feel.”

When asked about the process of creating her figurative painting style, Barbara said, “My paintings are multi-layered, time consuming works, I build up the many layers which give them the luminosity I want.”

Why not go to the Ajax Creative Arts Spring show and meet Barbara, she will be there on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm to talk to you about her art.
