This gluten free bread recipe is easy to prepare ahead. Easy to have fresh bread whenever you want! It keeps well, makes great toast or artisan sandwiches. Not only delicious it is healthy and full of fibre as well. I originally developed this as a bread to take camping, make the dry mix, add water and eggs, let rise then bake! An every day bread in our home for several years now.

With my system of making your own GF mixes ahead, you can with just a little planning, have wonderful meals without taking too much time away from your busy life.
The Braided Artisan Bread, picture on the right, available in my new book, Gluten Free Goodies, Holiday Edition, is one I developed out of necessity when we planned to take our sons camping and I needed something easy to take with us, that would keep in its dry state without spoiling. It has been a quick and easy staple ever since. I just make the mix ahead, with all the dry ingredients and add water and eggs (or alternative) to activate.
Trina's Braided Artisan Bread - Make the dry mix ahead and store; Add liquids; let rest; then shape and bake, its that easy!
Lots of times I bake some bread the night before and make the sandwiches to take along the next morning. Or activate some of my mix, let it sit in the fridge overnight, and bake in the morning. A couple of mornings ago, my son surprised us with the best French toast, made from some slices of the Braided Artisan Bread I’d baked the day before.
Unlike many other rice flour blends this recipe does not sink after you take it out of the oven as you can see from the photographs.
Every person on a gluten free diet should have this recipe!
