Mike Treadwell
A busy year of painting one of a kind golf clubs
and helping local fundraising!
- Mike helped raise funds for the Whitby Historical Society by donating a golf club for auction at their ball in November
- Mike gave a demonstration at the Owasco Dealership in Whitby Ontario! at Mayfest Customer Appreciation Day on May 2nd 2009 there was a petting zoo, all kinds of games, paint ball, a live music band, food - it was a great success and Mike wowed the attendees with his artistry!
- Mike was invited to a golf tournament for the Durham Masters Lacrosse Team and painted a golf club for them as a surprise to help them raise money for a defibrillator. The golf club was donated by Jim Sutton of Quality Auto Glass, Whitby. The club was trying to raise the money for the defibrillator in case any of their elderly members had a heart attack; it could be used to revive them until help arrived. After all they want all their members to live to play another day!
After the game when the members went out to a local restaurant to celebrate and give out prizes to the winners of the game, tickets were sold on the club which Mike had hand painted for $10.00 each. Much to everyone’s surprise, the ticket sales raised $2,000. for the club.
The foursome that won the club consisted of all lefties except for one who is a righty. He didn’t win the club; one of the lefties did so he gave it to the righty as he was the one in the group who could use it!
Congratulations to the winner!
Have a look at some of the photos Mike has taken of his work and designs in the slide show.
