Benefits for Women

Monica Olenroot has been nominated for the 2009 Business of the Year Award by the Durham Home Small Business Assoc.
Congratulations Monica!
A number of years ago it was not easy for a woman entrepreneur or businesswoman to find help in her chosen career or work from a female perspective.
It is not that a woman is less or better than her male counterpart, just that her mindset and prerogatives and even manner of getting ahead in business are different. Just as individuals and their demeanors, abilities and choices in life are as varied as the grains of sand on a beach, so to the differences in entrepreneurial women.
It was with this dream in mind, of founding a group, not for profit but for mutual benefit, sharing, learning and networking that Monica Olenroot decided to found ‘Benefits for Women Network’. A forward thinking idea at the time in the way she set things up, the organization has helped countless women connect with each other, (men too actually, as she invites men to join as sponsors and advisors) and grow as individuals and business women. Monica is also founder of DCH Business Navigators and operates DCH Insurance Services.
Monica has done a great deal of this through arranging various meetings, Lunches and Learns, Open Forum Discussions, Online Networking and online promotions. All the while managing and running her life insurance business, DCH Insurance Services.
Monica brings talented speakers to give valuable insights at meetings, her work has certainly been a benefit to many women just starting out in business as well as those who are established in their careers.
TD Canada Trust sponsors many of Benefits for Women events.
Patricia Lovett-Reid, Senior Vice President with TD Waterhouse Canada Inc., a Certified Financial Planner and a leading authority on wealth
management who hosts ‘MoneyTalk’ Canada's premier personal finance show which airs each week recently gave an informative talk to a hall full of Benefits for Women members and guests. Considering that money is the ‘hot topic’ these days with the economy in such down turn, the event was a sell-out as most of Monica’s events are.
Benefits for Women recently held an event sponsored by TD Canada Trust entitled, ‘Turn Your Hobby Into Cashflow’. The event was organized by Public Relations and Events Co-ordinator - Barbara Lorne
Speakers at the event were,
